CNC Milling

CNC milling uses rotating cutters to automate the process of removing excess material and shaping custom parts, suitable for both small intricate pieces and large components.

Milling machines perform substantially well for mainly metal, wood and a variety of other solid materials. Performing a number of tailored operations, including slot cutting, threading, and rabbeting to routing, planning, and drilling.

CNC Milling - Barton International

CNC milling machines are able to multitask, so therefore have multi-purpose use. Our team mills and turns materials while efficiently clearing any excess material removed during the process. They perform these operations using vertical or horizontal CNC milling machinery.

CNC milling for metalwork offers several advantages. These machines can handle large and heavy workpieces without damage due to their robust construction. Human error is reduced with CNC/CAD support, ensuring precise cuts with multiple cutters for extensive customisation.

CNC milling is versatile, suitable for small or large batch production, and consistently achieves greater precision in component finishing compared to other machinery.

There are several drawbacks associated with CNC milling. Firstly, the initial setup costs for milling machines are higher compared to manual methods. Additionally, operators need adequate training to operate this machinery effectively.

Moreover, for small batch quantities, CNC milling may be less cost-effective due to the time and resources required for design and programming.
